Job Description Summary:

As Regional Director of Revenue Management will be responsible for maximizing revenue and profits for multiple hotels through the strategic coordination of revenue management processes and procedures. The Regional Director of Revenue Management is also responsible for driving the continued growth of all revenue streams for multiple hotels and to deliver the bottom line profitability.

QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING & WORK EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Vocational/Technical Training with experience.
  • Minimum five years experience in the hospitality field. Experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with good ability as a trainer.
  • Work-related Analytical Experience.
  • Aggressive, outgoing and self-motivating individual with pleasant personality.
  • ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Create and maintain a qualified and effective team of Revenue Managers and Revenue Analysts
  • Ensure that sales and pricing strategies are based on sound judgement through effective analysis and reporting
  • Ensure professional and efficient utilization of all systems, in line with company best practices and standard operating procedures
  • Ensure effective information gathering and analysis is conducted in order to identify and maximize on all possible opportunities and minimize any risks
  • Ensure that relevant hotel is actively engaged in all revenue decisions by maintaining regular communication to effectively implement optimal strategies and controls
  • Integrate with other functions to ensure we exceed our customers, owners and shareholder expectations
  • Ensure high quality of revenue management processes and communications is applied consistently
  • Ensure all Best Practices and Standard Operating Procedures are followed to capitalize and maximize revenue potential
  • Utilize systems, tools and reports in the prescribed way to ensure all revenue management decisions are supported with relevant data analysis
  • Build an effective working relationship with Hotel Management and Teams, to maintain their trust and confidence in the Revenue Management decisions and actions being taken pertaining to inventory and rate control, pricing and overbooking
  • Review and implement daily room accommodations and rate inventory controls in RM Systems
  • Ensure group inventory cut-off dates are managed according to demand
  • Implement all blackout dates and review frequently to determine if adjustments are needed
  • Maintain rate parity with third party sites through extranet sites
  • Review key demand periods to maximize RevPAR and profit through effective consideration of costs of sales
  • Review end of month room statistics reports and provide critical analysis on performance vs. forecasts and results of implemented strategies
  • Conducts displacement analysis of group business as needed to determine the impact potential business will have on RevPAR
  • Complete weekly booking pace reports and analysis on pace, recommends strategy changes when needed
  • Analyze past and present trends and makes recommendations for future strategies.
  • Ensure accuracy of all information being produced/ reported effectively
  • Communicate Rate Solicitations, Audits, Company and Marketing Promotions and Revenue Management initiatives.
  • Conduct monthly and quarterly conference calls that cover training and rollout of new tools/timesaving technology and best practices
  • Budget / Forecast reviews
  • Conduct Property Reviews, Strategy Sessions and Specialized Training.
    Participates in conference calls and attends and actively participates in Revenue Management team meetings.
  • Monitor and assist with making recommendations regarding the propertys website, PPC and SEO
  • Consult with hotels/resorts to formulate transient and group strategies encompassing all facets of pricing, demand analysis, yield management, market segmentation and business mix.
  • Assist hotels in analyzing Smith Travel Reports, Hotelligence Reports and Performance Reports.
  • Consult with Home Office Executive Team, GMs, DOSMs, Area Directors of Revenue Management and Directors of Revenue Management to identify hotel issues/concerns in regards to revenue and market share improvement plan.
  • Monitor, identify and communicate needed changes to existing tactical and strategic plans to optimize revenue potential and market share growth.
  • Acts as a liaison between each property and their electronic distribution channels, including their offsite call center, to maximize each propertys exposure and bookings.
  • Provides a monthly analysis to Management complete with speculation on future performance of each market segment to include Rate, Occupancy, and REVPAR.
  • Overnight travel will be 50% for this position.
  • Working Knowledge of, or experience with, the following brand systems: TravelClick (iHotelier, Hotelligence), Northwind (Maestro), Micros (Opera), Cisco ACD Phone System (RCM)
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office programs: Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Expansive knowledge of both transient and group, with a particularly strong emphasis on GDS, CRS and online distribution.
  • Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills.
  • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience and 10 years of previous Revenue Management experience including having held the position of Area Director of Revenue Manager.
  • Prior multiple property revenue management
  • Must possess strong technical and analytical skills
  • Experience making presentations in front of a group.
  • Strong customer service orientation and skills.

    MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:

    Perform other related duties as requested by Vice President, Revenue Management.
