Schedule: Part-time, 20 hours/week

Under the general direction of the Associate Director of Admissions and Evaluations the Evaluations Editor accomplishes all duties to prepare and distribute evaluation reports for students from the outside community as a collaborative member of the department and program evaluation teams (ELC, DB, LS, and Secondary).

Responsibilities include:

* Develop knowledge of best practices for educational evaluations for students with visual impairment and deafblindness in all offered evaluation areas and be able to share this information with others
* Develop knowledge of IDEA and state regulations regarding IEPs and independent educational evaluations and disseminate this knowledge to other parties including Perkins staff, families, and funding parties.
* Develop knowledge of the cost of evaluation services, how evaluations can be funded and share this information to other parties.
* Attend and collaboratively participate in post-evaluation meetings, take notes, and use information from meeting to inform report editing
* Manage all stages of report editing which includes editing for format, grammar, clarity, and quality and completeness of written content
* Write and disseminate background summaries to evaluators; write report summaries as needed
* Consistently inform educational program staff about report due dates
* Oversee the collection, timelines, and organization (i.e., original, edits in process, final version, etc.) of evaluation reports within established timelines; proactively communicate updates with the respective case manager
* Manage sending out final reports to families, school districts, and evaluators and complete tracking/data details (i.e., record date of completion, preserve final version of report, etc.)
* Develop systems to improve efficiencies in report writing and the editing process
* Communicate clearly and consistently with writers regarding suggested edits and professionally provide feedback to writers to improve quality of evaluation reports
* Utilize Salesforce to record and track evaluations data/activity
* Support department admission work as needed
* Positively promote Perkins mission, accomplishments and student profiles
* Participate in other school-wide projects and committees as needed

Minimum Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university in education, visual impairment, or related field; Master's degree preferred
* Three years of experience working in an educational setting providing direct services to populations with disabilities or multiple disabilities; experience working with transdisciplinary teams and conducting student evaluations preferred
