SUMMARY Meets guests of the Water Park, explaining ticket process, programs and rates with lodging packages and day tickets. Processes and issues the appropriate tickets.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (include the following, other duties may be assigned)

  • Remains up to date on all information in the Guest Services Manual.
  • Greets guests with a professional demeanor, answering questions in an accurate manner.
  • Monitors capacity and sells admission tickets to Day Pass/Non Waterpark package guests.
  • Educates guests when selling day packages on other resort amenities, schedules and packages.
  • Uses suggestive selling to encourage the guest to upgrade their experiences.
  • Keeps all brochure/magazine racks stocked.
  • Gives accurate directions and information about the Jay Peak community.
  • Speaks with concerned guests to discern their needs and get the appropriate assistance/resolution.
  • Performs general cashiering duties and stays up to date on how to process coupons, discounts, etc.
  • Greets guests as they enter the park during high volume periods to explain procedures, payment options and park information. May be asked to wander throughout the park cleaning common areas, picking up towels and trash, checking restroom/locker supplies, taking out garbage, etc.
  • Cross trains in Lifeguard responsibilities and may fill in as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned, which could be directly related, or un-related to original position.

    This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

    Position Requirements


    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.     One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


    Ability to read and write common business levels of correspondence, memos, and formatted letters. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.


    Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.


    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.


    Must have strong keyboarding and basic computer skills that allow for quick learning of new procedures.


    Maintains excellent verbal communication skills, proper phone etiquette and the ability to work in a multi-tasking fast-paced environment.

    The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.


    This is a Winter Resort Area. It requires that work venues are varied, and in many cases include steep stairways, multi-level buildings and outdoor work areas, subject to very cold, sometimes wet or very sunny work sites. Some facilities are located at the base or bottom area and some are semi-remote and can only be reached by traveling via chair lift(s), skis or snowboards. Walking surfaces are frequently frozen, sloped and slippery. Proper footwear is a must, indoors and out. Work days and hours, as well as the number of hours required will vary, with an emphasis on weekends and holidays.
