* Under the supervision of the Food Services Director/Manager or their appointee, employees occupying the position of Wait Staff assist in the service of meals in accordance with Healthcare Services Group, Inc. and the State Department of Health established policies and procedures. * The employee places prepared food and beverages on plated/trays in accordance with tray tickets, and, as may be directed by the Food Services Director/Manager or Cook. * Review meal tickets prior to placing prepared food on trays. * Review tray tickets for diet changes and new diets as received from Nursing Services, in the absence of the Dining Services Director. * Coordinate food service delivery with other departments as necessary. * Follow all relevant health department rules/regulations and all customer service guidelines. * Performs other duties as assigned by the Cook or Food Services Director/Manager. * Prepares trays with meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance. Prepares and delivers snacks and nourishments according to resident food preferences and physicians'/dietitian orders. * Prepares trays with hot and cold foods and beverages as written on tray tickets.. * Ensure that appropriate equipment and utensils (dishes, glasses, cups, and eating utensils) are provided with the residentrsquo;s meal tray. * Serves substitute foods to residents who refuse foods served. * Make only authorized food substitutions. * Inspect special diet trays to ensure that the correct diet is served to the resident. * Transports and serves trays at meal delivery. * Cooperate with all serving and kitchen staff * Review tray card to assure that current food information is consistent with foods served. * Performs other duties as assigned by the Cook or Food Services Director/Manager. * The Wait Staff/Serverconsistently embodies the characteristics necessary to drive the Companyrsquo;s Purpose, Vision, Values, and DNA.
* A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Specialized training in foodservice is desirable. May be required to successfully complete an approved sanitation and safety course (ServSafe). * Ability to read, speak and understand English, follow directions and complete tasks. * Ability to follow time schedules for meal preparation and serving. * Maintains a neat, clean, well-groomed appearance. * Dependable, with experience working in facilities utilizing quantity food production methods. * Ability to develop constructive working and interpersonal relationships with colleagues and residents. * Problem solving and decision making skills * Service orientation and excellent organizational skills * Active listening and effective communication competencies
* Must be able to lift/carry a maximum of 10 pounds, push/pull a maximum of 30 pounds, stand, sit, bend and walk for extended periods of time. * Must be able to work around food and cleaning products. * Must live in service area. No relocation costs.
