Summary:Primary emphasis in this position is in managing all aspects of the Deli Department by assuring excellent customer service and assisting in the daily operations. Primary duties include assuring Deli/Food Service Clerks are pleasant and efficient when having contact with, servicing or in the presence of customers, filling and rotating cases, cleaning and sanitation within the department, and providing management assistance, primarily in monitoring the department operations and delegation of assignments. This position is responsible for providing effective training, development and work direction for department teammates and requires ability to encourage individual and group support towards department objectives. Position will continually develop skills in ordering, invoicing, scheduling, merchandising, P, gross profit, expense controls and record keeping. Position function also requires the ability to drive sales. Position hours will vary with the needs of the business. Assignments and work direction will be provided by Store Manager, Deli Merchandiser, or the person in charge.Essential Functions:Follow all Red Shirt Service guidelines at all times and assure team is as wellGreet each customer as they approach the Deli counterProcess each customer order properlyPromote product through selling sessionsFollows proper receiving procedures and credit/shortage/damage policiesAnswer questions, assists customers with special requests, and provide any assistance necessaryAssure Deli Clerks are pleasant and accurate at all timesAssist customers with specific requestsAssure all sanitation and food safety processes and guidelines are in place and being followed at all timesMonitor operations to assure proper service level and operational procedures are being followedPrioritize and delegate assignments to teammates and follow up to Assure completionPerform product and supply ordering to meet business needs and inventory level guidelinesProcess all department paper work in a timely mannerUtilize department tablets to communicate, process requested paperwork and informational requestsComplete department inventories accurately and per corporate scheduleMonitor daily and weekly reportsAttend department manager meetings, sales meetings and huddle upsKeep good records of orders, pre-books and product movementMonitor and understand daily/weekly movement of products to write good orders and create daily production needsMonitor department cleaning and sanitation program to assure 100% compliance at all timesAssure all code dating guidelines are followed and remove all out date product or product unfit for saleSet and fill case, side wall, displays, and warming/hot food areas as per instructions and corporate standardsManage daily production and usage of daily production logs to maximize product sales and control shrinkAssure proper recipe usage and portion control of all products to meet quality standardsPerform personnel functions of the Deli department in conjunction with store managementProvides feedback to store management on teammate performanceRecommends and assists in administering teammate disciplinary actionCommunicate and work with store management at all timesAssure clear communication of all new departmental policies and procedures to all department teammatesImplementation of all corporate merchandising plans to maximize sales and gross profit dollarsResponsible for department achieving all financial goals; including sales, gross profit, payroll, supplies (Contribution to Overhead CTO)Follows all store and department policies as stated in Teammate Personnel handbook and any other manuals which may be provided to youPerform additional duties as assigned by store or corporate managementEquipment Operation (included but not limited to):Calculator Hand Wrapper Cardboard Baler Slicer Oven/Rotisserie/Fryer U-boat Shopping Cart L-Cart Scale Tablet PCCleaning Utensils Knives Telephone Intercom Box CutterEssential Minimum Qualifications/SkillsReadingBasic math skillsAbility to communicate clearly and effectively with teammates and customersBasic writing skillsAbility to differentiate color, shape, and sizeSense of smellVisual clarityGood Telephone and intercom etiquetteAbility to follow verbal and written directionsStrong organizational skillsAbility to multi-task and prioritizeGood recordkeeping abilityBasic computer skillsLeadership skillsAbility to work safely
