Job Overview:
The Project Coordinator reports to the Site Manager in support of the Decontamination and Decommissioning (D&D) efforts at the Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory in Niskayuna, New York as a part of a joint venture with BWX Technologies to form BWSR. BWSR is the Decontamination, Decommissioning, and Demolition (D&D) sub-contractor for the Naval Reactor Facilities within the Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory performing the remediation of legacy nuclear and environmental materials on site. The main project areas at the site include remediation of historical research facilities, demolition of buildings, and characterization of site-infrastructure to support on-going maintenance and constructioion.

This position responsible for formulating schedules and coordinating task priorities as established by the customer. This individual must work closely as a team member with Project Management, Radiological Controls Supervisors, Operations Supervisors to support a consistent approach to the planning and performance of project managed work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the daily Plan of the Day (POD), open items for on-going work.
  • Initial work planning/scoping working with Operations and Engineering to provide a resource loaded schedule and cost estimate for every task given to the customer.
  • Input approved task schedules into the customer's 15-month work plan and helps develop procedures for field question submissions, resolution and tracking.
  • Assist BWSR/customer interface issues such as LOTO, electrical outages and scheduling work.
  • Interface with Buyer planning personnel.
  • Oversee all planning of work tasks to ensure preparations, execution, and closeout documentation of work area satisfactory.
  • Basic Qualifications:
  • This position requires 3-5 years of experience in the field demonstrating increased levels of management/supervisory experience on large, complex projects involving radioactive and/or hazardous waste generation and disposal
  • Prior Naval Reactors Program experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experinece working with P6 is a plus
  • Must be a US Citizen; no dual citizenship.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE \"L\" Security Clearance.
